Edithburgh Tidal Pool
Edithburgh Tidal Pool is a much-loved seaside attraction offering a safe, relaxed way to enjoy the ocean. Naturally filled and refreshed by the tides, the pool provides calm swimming conditions while remaining closely connected to the open waters of Gulf St Vincent.
The pool dates back to the 1880s, when separate bathing areas were created for men and women during Edithburgh’s busy port days. Today, the remaining pool continues to serve the community, blending maritime history with everyday coastal enjoyment.
Shallow and family-friendly, the pool has a maximum depth of approximately 0.9 metres, making it ideal for children, gentle swims, and confidence-building in the sea. Steps provide easy access into the water.
Surrounded by lawns, picnic areas, BBQ facilities, toilets and nearby parking, Edithburgh Tidal Pool is also a popular VacSwim venue and a favourite spot to relax, swim and watch the sun set over the sea.
Yorke Peninsula SaltWater Classic
The Yorke Peninsula Saltwater Classic is a biennial maritime celebration held in Stansbury and Port Vincent, focusing on the display of restored wooden and classic boats. The event showcases maritime heritage through regattas, parades, vintage car displays, and shore-side activities, including marine art and local, community-led festivities.

Edithburgh Water Tower Art
The Edithburgh Water Tower, located on New Honiton Road in Edithburgh, is a striking landmark that has been transformed into a vibrant canvas by artists Mike Makatron, Conrad Bizjak, and Dylan Butler. This collaborative artwork celebrates the town’s unique character and coastal heritage, turning the utilitarian structure into a visually engaging piece of public art. The mural adds a contemporary, creative touch to Edithburgh’s skyline, reflecting the skill and vision of the contributing artists while providing both locals and visitors with a memorable cultural landmark.
Edithburgh Jetty & Boat Ramp
Edithburgh on the Yorke Peninsula is widely regarded as one of the state’s premier fishing destinations, known for its reliable and diverse catches, including King George whiting, squid, yellowfin whiting, tommy ruff, and garfish. Popular fishing locations include the well-maintained Edithburgh Jetty, ideal for land-based anglers and families with its wide structure and night lighting, and Sultana Point, a calm, sandy beach renowned for productive shore fishing—particularly for yellowfin whiting. The area also features a modern, all-weather boat ramp, providing easy access to deeper offshore waters for those targeting larger King George whiting.
Fishing conditions in Edithburgh vary seasonally, offering year-round appeal for recreational anglers. Summer is especially popular for catching blue swimmer crab around the Fisherman’s Jetty, while autumn and winter bring increased squid activity. Local tips include using squid bait for tommies and targeting King George whiting in shallow waters between 3–10 metres, particularly around seagrass beds. With access to both sheltered gulf waters and the more exposed southern ocean, Edithburgh offers a versatile fishing environment suited to both shore-based fishers and boat enthusiasts alike.
